The evolution and impact of aesthetic medicine in Spain according to the Spanish Society of Aesthetic Medicine
The report ‘Perception and use of aesthetic medicine in Spain 2023’ presented by the Spanish Society of Aesthetic Medicine has revealed curious data about the impact of these treatments on Spanish society. This study was conducted based on 1,500 interviews throughout the country.
Speaking of impact, it is estimated that 50% of the population has undergone an aesthetic treatment at some time in their life. Of these, 69% are women and only 31% are men.
In terms of age, the most common age for aesthetic treatments varies between 35 and 54 years. If we analyze it in detail, we see that, according to surveys, 20% of patients are between 16 and 26 years old, 21% are between 25 and 34 years old, also 21% are people between 25 and 45 years old, and 38% are over 45 years old.
On the other hand, it is interesting to know that the most demanded aesthetic treatments in the last year are: hyaluronic acid filler, mesotherapy, IPL (pulsed light), PRP (platelet-rich plasma) and toxin.
