Carboxytherapy in Tenerife: improves cellulite, stretch marks and flaccidity
In our Bajo Clinic we use the carboxytherapy technique to combat cellulite, flaccidity and localized fat. It is a minimally invasive method that consists of the application of carbon dioxide (CO2) gas subcutaneously through small infiltrations into the affected tissues.
The injection of CO2, which is how carboxytherapy is applied, produces an improvement in gas exchange in the circulation, reestablishing microcirculation, increasing the amount and speed of blood flow and breaking the vicious circle that occurs in the affected tissues.
How Carboxytherapy is used
The Carboxytherapy technique is very simple. It is carried out through specially designed equipment that allows the flow rate and injection time to be controlled, as well as the dose administered to be monitored. Several injections are given with a needle with a diameter smaller than that of Insulin.
Once the session is over, it is usually complemented with Pressotherapy or Microalveolar Subdermal Massage to increase the diffusion of the gas to adjacent tissues.
The number of sessions is variable and depends on the specific characteristics and needs of each patient, but a minimum of 15 sessions are considered necessary, 2 or 3 times a week.
Once the session is over, the patient can return to their activities of daily living, avoiding the sun for the next 24-48 hours.
Other therapeutic uses of carboxytherapy are the treatment of purple dark circles and the stimulation of the hair follicle in cases of diffuse female pattern alopecia.
